On October 28 at 11:30, test alerts will be sent across Estonia via two mobile applications. The aim is to verify the functionality of the apps as part of the national public warning system EE-ALARM:
- “Eesti app” provides users with convenient access to government services and identity documents via smart devices, regardless of location or time. (Download links for Android and iOS)

To receive alerts from the state via these apps, notifications must be enabled on your smartphone.
On Thursday, October 30 at 14:00 the Ministry of the Interior’s IT and Development Centre (SMIT) in cooperation with the Estonian Rescue Services Agency will conduct a technical test of the siren network . During the test, a short beeping sound file will be played through all siren posts. This will help authorities assess the timing and overall technical performance of the siren network.
The sound file has been selected to be audible but not disruptive to daily life. In a real emergency, the sirens will emit a one-minute rising and falling tone, repeated at least three times with 30-second pauses. The full siren signal lasts approximately four minutes. The apps and siren network are part of Estonia’s national public warning system called EE-ALARM. To ensure reliability and plan future improvements, the system must be regularly tested and analysed – this is part of routine maintenance. Both the beeping siren activation and the app alert are tests. There is no actual danger and no need to take any action.
